Newsletter May 7-11

I hope that you have all put our Reading Picnic on your calendars.  It will be the last day of school, May 25 at 1:00 in our classroom.  It will last for about an hour.  You can take your child home afterwards if you would like to.  I am trying to find out if we dismiss early that day.  I will let you know as soon as I receive any information about early dismissal on the last day.

I have three parents that have committed to come swimming with us.  I still need one more brave soul, to help out.  If you could help out that day please let me know.  I could also use some to help watch so if you would like to come and help walk around and watch from outside of the pool  let me know that also.

Flat Stanley has traveled to several more locations.  Rayce's Flat Stanley went to Asheville, North Carolina.  We learned that the biggest house in the United States is in Asheville.  It is called the Biltmore Estate.  Tylan's Flat Stanley traveled to St. Anthony, Idaho and Kason's visited Heber City, Utah.  Again, thanks for helping with this fun assignment.

This week will be our last week to check out library books.  Remember that all library books, or payment for lost books will be due, Thursday, May 17.  Those that turn theirs in or pay for lost books will receive a book to take home. 

Happy Mother's Day to you wonderful mothers!!  Your sons and daughters are lucky to have you!  Please continue reading with your child!  Make it a habit, something your child looks forward to each night!

I am including a note about a summer lunch program, so please continue to read about it if you are interested.

Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),

Summer is coming soon. You may be thinking about what your child will do for meals

while school is out. The good news is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners

in your local community to serve free meals. It’s food that’s in, while school is out.

There are no income requirements, and any child under age 18 may come to eat.

Here is information about your local Summer Food site:

Days meals are served: Monday – Friday from May 29^th to August 10th

Times meals are served: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Place where meals are served: Main St. Park Pavilion (Corner of 200 North & Main)
